I realised I never did an #introduction - Hi everyone! I'm Matt Godbolt, and I love:
- low-level computer hackery & performance, learning & teaching
- compilers & tooling around compilation
- old hardware (particularly 6502-based UK computer BBC Micro)
I made video games, ran my own C++ tools company, and spent time at Google. Now landed in fintech.
I have an amazing (and tolerant of me) wife and 2 teenagish kids, 2 cats and a dog. I'm a Brit living in Chicago.

Has any one gotten #chatGPT3 to do a literature survey correctly? It summarizes the research in many fields reasonably well, but it always makes up papers. I couldn't get it to cite even a single real paper.
